I’m on dribbble.

I’m not really sure how this happened. I’ve been hearing about dribbble and its founders for a long time, but didn’t really feel motivated to seek an invitation (it’s invitation only as a control mechanism).

But Stefan in the office here is on dribbble constantly and is following all kinds of cool folks, seeing what they’re working on, and seemed pretty eager to get an invitation, so I decided to check it out some more.

I cruised around, and found a lot of designers whom I keep an eye on posting stuff I wouldn’t have otherwise seen, with their thoughts on the work and sometimes seeking input. There was a cool vibe centered around making stuff and then showing it to other people who know what they’re doing and providing input or validation. I didn’t (don’t) feel as though I have much to contribute to this community but, what the heck, I signed up.

I got drafted the next day. No invite, just drafted by dribbble.

I have no idea why.

I know that some people have been waiting years for an invite, so I feel a little weird. But, hey, go with the flow, right?

Apparently it’s courteous to thank the person who provided you with the invite (it’s something of an honor, I guess?). That, and the fact that I don’t have anything on my plate that would warrant a shot (posting) – my wireframes aren’t that pretty – I cooked up a quick little thank you note.

I haven’t posted anything else yet, but you can check out my profile here: http://dribbble.com/danielbhansen
